Grace On Skates Seminar

This program’s focus is on learning (or re-learning) the basic technique of skating: efficiency and flow. From Race to Slalom, Hockey to Trails, and any discipline in between, what these all have in common is their grace. Grace is what brings people into the sport and until now, it had yet to be taught in a focused and thorough way.

Grace in skating is all about the efficiency. The knee which keeps bending throughout the move (breathing), flexing up and down in a rhythmic cadence as the skater performs a crossover on a corner.  It is the rotation of the body as it moves around a cone in slalom. It is the quiet of the upper body during Double Push so the legs can do all the work.  It is the gentle movement which creates power to win, score and attain a move, truly.

Grace on Skates will take you from the Fundamentals of Skating and pull the threads of the basics up through Intermediate and even Advanced. When you leave, you will have the tools to apply what you learned to any new moves you try.

The Seminar will occur in one 8-hour day with time on skates as well as moves in shoes.

Dates for 2011 are not yet set but this progrem is currently planned for three major cities. Email us to be on the list for a city near you. Or request one in your city and we will set it up; all we need is a location and a date. Build it and they will come.
